Continuous Improvement Manager
GET TO KNOW
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies are playing the viola, cardio, cooking and baking, and arts and crafts of all sorts. My two go-to crafts are glassworking (kiln forming and torch work) and fiber arts (I knit and spin my own yarn).
If you could arrange a dinner party and invite anyone (living or deceased), who would it be?
I would invite Tesla, Leonardo da Vinci, Nelson Mandela, Abraham Lincoln, and John Lennon. (I can’t imagine what direction the conversation at the dinner party would take, but I bet it would be fascinating.)
What is your role at Flow-Rite?
I am a Continuous Improvement Manager. In my role I work closely with individuals across the organization to drive improvements in products and processes. These Improvements can include anything and everything; from setting up new cellular one-piece flow processes in manufacturing in the cell, to organizing cupboards on the employee café, to redefining how we process customer orders… no matter the focus, there is always opportunity to challenge ourselves to be better.
What Flow-Rite value speaks most to you and why?
The Flow-Rite value that speaks most to me is “Love What You Do” because it makes my work feel more fulfilling and just a little less like work.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
The first thing I can remember wanting to be when I grew up was an archaeologist ( I grew up with the Indiana Jones movies). As I went through middle school and high school, I went through phases of wanting to be a geophysicist (for some reason that seemed cool when I was 12), a graphic designer, and I finally settled on wanting to be an engineer when I was a junior in high school.
