Would you rather have to have 5 dogs always or no pets at all for your whole life?
I would rather have 5 dogs, they are a pain but worth it. If I had 5 dogs I would hire a service to keep my yard clean though.
In your own words, describe your role at FRC?
As a project Engineer mainly dealing with new product development here at FRC, I help make ideas into products. I will start with a concept and follow it all of the way to the customer. I also make our current products better for FRC and our customers.
What do you like to do outside the office environment?
I play Ice Hockey all year round and have been doing so for many years. I enjoy working on my Jeep and occasionally breaking it. I love to spend time with my Wife and our 2 German Shorthaired Pointers, whether we are showing them, Hunting with them or are curled up on the couch with them.
What Flow-Rite value speaks most to you and why?
Love what you do: Why? I am passionate about what I do here at Flow-Rite. I get to come to work everyday to solve problems and create new things. I am encouraged to use my hands as well as my computer to bring new ideas to life. I have plenty of support to pursue new ideas and technologies to make a difference here at Flow-Rite. I enjoy working alongside a top notch collection of co-works that are similarly driven.
Describe your background.
I went to Grand Rapids Central High School. I graduated from Ferris State University with degrees in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Product Design Engineering Technology. I worked for Gentex Corp. for 2 years where I met some of my closest friends. I worked the next 7 years at Structural Concepts Corp. as a Refrigeration and Design Engineer.
If you could travel anywhere, where would it be? Why?
I have always wanted to go to the Grand Canyon, seems like it would be cool to see.
What characteristic do you most admire in others and why?
I admire honesty and humility. If a person is dishonest and arrogant they lack character and credibility.
